HEAVY MACHINERY VS. TM61
Heavy Machinery is such a fun team, and I want to believe “steaks and weights” really is their religion. It’s always cool to see a big man like Tucker Knight suplex two guys at once. Dozovic is a perfect guy for a hot tag. He is over as hell and really plays to the crowd, not to mention his devastating offense. TM61 picks up a win with feet on the ropes, the only logical way they should beat Heavy Machinery. Great way to get them heat with a dirty win over a massively over face team. Very well done match that successfully furthered a story.
Match Rating: Seven Gold Medals
KAIRI SANE VS. LACEY EVANS
Explosive start by Kairi Sane, I love when she shows her aggressive side. Lacey’s chop sounded PAINFUL. It’s obvious that Lacey really knows how to hurt people. Kairi seems so sweet and innocent but when she gets going, god damn it’s a thing of beauty. And she is OVER. The crowd was so hot for this match. She should be in the women’s title picture soon. Unfortunately Lacey saddles her with a loss here, a HUGE win for Evans. Maybe she’ll be the one getting a push, or maybe this feud will continue. I don’t think anyone would not want to see these two go at it again, this was a terrific match.
Match Rating: Eight Gold Medals
HANDICAP MATCH: LARS SULLIVAN VS. RICOCHET & VELVETEEN DREAM
I don’t feel like it’s a real handicap match if all three guys aren’t in the ring at once. This match is most fun when Dream and Ricochet are in the ring together, which happens for a good portion of the match. Lars is a damn animal. That diving headbutt must have been scary for Dream to take. It certainly wasn’t graceful. He has become a solid worker though, and due in large part to that, this is a damn good match. Dream reminds everyone that he’s a heel with a double cross that leaves Ricochet helpless against the monster Sullivan. This was done in a way that made everybody looked strong. Sullivan picks up a win in a one-on-two match, while Ricochet takes the loss only after his partner turned on him. That one was a lot of fun.
Match Rating: Seven Gold Medals
Dakota Kai finally kind of stands up to Shayna Baszler after announcing she gets a title shot against her. I’m still intrigued, so that’s a plus.
IN-RING SEGMENT: JOHNNY GARGANO & CANDICE LeRAE
Johnny teases retirement but instead calls out Ciampa. Candice brings out the referees to keep them apart, and it looks like the storyline here will be Johnny wanting to fight and Candice wanting him to walk away. Johnny doesn’t listen and Candice gets hurt. This is the hottest feud in WWE right now and this adds even more depth to it. Ciampa scampers off like a good heel once he realizes what he’s done. I’m not sure if it would have been better for him to stay and laugh about it, but his heel work has been so good that I’m not going to question it. There’s visibly shocked audience members, and that’s a reaction that’s hard to elicit nowadays. It shows just how emotionally invested people are in Johnny and Candice and their feud with Ciampa. I eagerly await their segments every week. Keep it up.
There’s a new rating system for segments depending on if they’re good or bad. This one was good, so it gets seven Rock, This Is Your Lifes
Had it been equally bad as it was good, it would have gotten seven Katie Vicks
Simple.
Overall Show Rating: Eight Gold Medals
