TABLES MATCH: THE NEW DAY VS. SANITY

The New Day is on its last legs, while SAnitY is fresh. They’re also being pushed as chaotic and anarchic, so a tables match is a good way to show that and let them shine in their element.

Prediction: SAnitY

 

STEEL CAGE MATCH: BRAUN STROWMAN VS. KEVIN OWENS

Owens is in a place right now where creative doesn’t seem to have a major storyline for him other than to be Braun Strowman’s practice dummy. That’s ok. It’s better when it’s someone credible, and even when Owens is in a main event storyline he’s a sneaky chicken shit heel, so it makes sense that up against someone like Strowman he really wouldn’t stand a chance. Even so, he can still keep his credibility as a top heel when that time comes again. That time is not tonight.

Prediction: Braun Strowman

 

BARON CORBIN VS. FINN BALOR

A tough match to call. Everyone want to see Corbin get his ass beat. Everyone loves Finn. So a PPV win for Finn would seem logical, right? Well this is a filler PPV leading up to SummerSlam, and we know that PPVs don’t really give the payoff as much anymore, and haven’t in a long time. A Corbin heel win might be the way to go here. Wins and losses don’t matter that much for Finn in his current position. He’s in a KO position right now, but on the face side.

Prediction: Baron Corbin

 

UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: SHINSUKE NAKAMURA VS. JEFF HARDY (c)

Jeff needs time to heel. Shinsuke is a star but still needs some build to his current character. They wouldn’t give him the rub over Styles for the WWE Championship but a US Title run is a good idea. I’d like to see what he could do for the title.

Prediction: New United States Champion, Shinsuke Nakamura

 

BOBBY LASHLEY VS. ROMAN REIGNS

This is a REAL tough one for me to call. At first though most would think, “Of course Roman is going over.” Not so fast. Roman doesn’t rack up wins the way people who say he’s being rammed down our throats would have us believe, especially on PPV. Sources say that Lesnar is done after SummerSlam, but we’ve heard that before. I think the winner of this match will dethrone him. Will Reigns really get another chance after all of his losses to Lesnar? Or will they go with a fresh face in Lashley? I think either one will get cashed in on the next night. Roman’s promos have been hugely better than Lashley’s, and I think that will be the ultimate decider who WWE backs in this likely unofficial number-one-contender match.

Prediction: Roman Reigns

 

INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP IRON MAN MATCH: SETH ROLLINS VS. DOLPH ZIGGLER (c)

It’ll get a huge reaction from the audience if Seth overcomes Ziggler and McIntyre to regain the IC title. I also think it was on the wrong man. McIntyre is the one to give the strap to sooner rather than later. I wouldn’t be surprised if this feud doesn’t end tonight and McIntyre touts his win over Rollins last week as justification for a title match if Rollins wins.

Prediction: New Intercontinental Champion, Seth Rollins

 

SMACKDOWN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: TEAM HELL NO VS. THE BLUDGEON BROTHERS (c)

It’s cool to see Team Hell No again, but I think a miscommunication between them will cost them the match and lead to a singles feud and a SummerSlam match between Kane and Daniel Bryan.

Prediction: The Bludgeon Brothers

 

SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: ASUKA VS. CARMELLA (c)

I don’t know how, but Asuka is somehow going to get fucked again.

RAW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: THE B-TEAM VS. THE DELETERS OF WORLDS (c)

Some recent singles wins by Axel and Dallas have people wondering about this match, but I don’t think there’s much chance that Matt & Bray drop the titles. The promos have been fun in this feud, that matches haven’t been. The champs are going to drop the comedy and get mean tonight and this could be a very quick match.

RAW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP EXTREME RULES MATCH: NIA JAX VS. ALEXA BLISS (c)

It’s obvious that Rousey will get involved, but I think she’ll end up hitting Nia or getting into a fight with her and Alexa will take advantage and escape with the title

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: RUSEV VS. AJ STYLES (c)
