DREW GULAK w/JACK GALLAGHER VS. AKIRA TOZAWA
I can’t see Tozawa winning unless The Brian Kendrick comes out and distracts Gulak. Tozawa is obviously incredibly talented, but there’s so much push behind Gulak right now that it’s highly unlikely he’d take a clean loss. Tozawa has a nice position on the card but he’s not in the main event picture like Gulak is at the moment. Gulak has also been on an absolute tear, totally locked in.
I love power bombs, and Gulak hits a mean one on Tozawa. Oh Nords, Gulak chomps down on Tozawa’s ear and starts to tear at it. Holy Mike Tyson, Batman! Tozawa fights back with a dropkick from the top rope, a Shining Wizard, and a suicide dive that takes out Gulak as well as Jack Gallagher. Tozawa has one of the best suicide dives in the business, he does just push the guy when he lands it.
Tozawa sets up for his senton finisher, but Gallagher takes his leg out from under him and Tozawa grossly hits the back of his head on the top turnbuckle. He looks fine, but that looked painful. Tozawa wins by DQ, the heels attack him, and The Brian Kendrick makes the save. One of those expected-but-good finishes. It’s logical and it advances the storyline.

FATAL FIVE WAY: TJP VS. GRAN METALIK VS. LIO RUSH VS. TONY NESE VS. CEDRIC ALEXANDER
I want to get excited about a five-way match, but it’s highly likely it’s just gonna be three guys constantly staying outside the ring. And that’s exactly how it starts, with just Alexander and Rush. TJP hasn’t moved since being slightly bumped at the start of the match. Seriously. There’s no point in reviewing any of this until we get more than two guys in the ring because all it’s gonna do is piss me off.
Still here. It’s been about five minutes and they still haven’t cut the bullshit.
All five FINALLY got into the ring, and there was an AWESOME moment where immediately after Alexander got a two-count on TJP, Rush landed on him with a Final Hour frog splash. Perfect timing, looked incredible. And it immediately goes back to two guys in the ring.
Nese tosses Rush over the top rope with one hand and takes out the other competitors. And of course it’s back to no more than two guys fighting at one time. Fuck this shit. It’s so pointless. Imagine if the Royal Rumble was like this, no more than two guys ever fighting at the same time. Nobody would bother with it. Tony Nese pinned Cedric Alexander. Who cares? You didn’t win a fatal five-way, you won a round robin tournament.

I hate doing this because I love 205 Live, but for that awful main event…
