LIGERO VS. “WILD BOAR” MIKE HITCHMAN
I don’t know either of these guys, but from the crowd reaction to their entrances, Ligero is the face and Wild Boar is the heel. As you can imagine with a dude named Wild Board, he’s THICK. He looks like a British Rhyno. Ligero is not small, but he’s certainly at a size and strength advantage.
I can’t stress just how ugly Wild Boar is.
Ligero hits a springboard tornado DDT for what was probably an upset victory. The match was ok, nothing special happened.

DAKOTA KAI VS. KILLER KELLY
Lots of kicks and fists from these two women, just the way I like it. Kelly puts Kai in a PAINFUL-looking Dragon Sleeper but can’t get it fully locked it. Kai was bent in half. Kai looks really slow and sloppy until she gets going on offense with some kicks in the corner. She hits a bad ass finisher where she flips over Kelly and it’s like a codebreaker but it’s the back of Kelly’s neck hitting Kai’s knees. I didn’t like Kai’s pacing here but she hit some cool stuff in the end.

IN-RING PROMO: ZACK GIBSON
He has to ask to have the microphone turned up so he can talk over the deafening boos of the crowd. It’s almost impossible to hear him over the crowd until they finally do turn up the mic. It’s a great promo, and the audience reaction just enhances it. After talking about how Noam Dar didn’t deserve his title shot last week, out comes Dar, followed by NXT UK Commissioner Johnny Saint, who immediately beckons both men to his office.

ASHTON SMITH VS. TUCKER
Ashton Smith is 6’5. Nothing too fancy with these guys, some nice hard strikes from two really tough guys. Smith hits his finisher called the Ash Cloud DDT, which is pretty awesome.
Match Rating: Five Gold Medals
Danny Burch makes his NXT UK debut next week. Also next week, Zack Gibson will wrestle Noam Dar.
WOLFGANG VS. TYLER BATE
Tyler Bate matches are usually amazing. Wolfgang certainly has the size and strength advantage, but Bate is the total package. It feels like there’s nothing he can’t do. He gets the 255-pounder up for an airplane spin then hits a standing Shooting Star Press. You don’t see that combination very often, save from someone like Apollo Crews. He wins with his Tyler Driver 97 finisher. He never fails to impress.
Match Rating: Seven Gold Medals
The show didn’t start well but got better as it went on.
