TEAM PAWS (BOBBY ROODE & NATALYA) VS. TEAM B’N’B (FINN BALOR & BAYLEY)
Balor & Roode wear each other’s jackets and do each other’s mannerisms. Slow and boring action from Bayley and Natalya. She was about to go for a suicide dive before Bobby Roode tagged himself in saying, “You don’t dive! I’m saving you!”
The Blockbuster is such a cool move, but I’d like to see it done less so it doesn’t start to lose its luster. Backstage, Jimmy Uso tells Naomi, “You better chill, or you’re gonna go out there with one partner.” She’s already going out there with one partner. Roode and Balor fight over who is going to their their partner in. I love how silly this is. Natalya breaks up a hug attempt between Bayley and Balor, and she and Bayley double clothesline each other on the outside.
Roode says “Too sweet” and goes for the Coup de Grâce, but he misses and Balor hits it himself to give Team B’N’B the win. This was a more silly face vs. face match with very little excitement, but both teams were entertaining, so it wasn’t all bad.
Match Rating: Three Gold Medals
TEAM AWE-SKA (THE MIZ & ASUKA) VS. DAY ONE GLOW (NAOMI & JIMMY USO)
Cole says Mixed Match Challenge is like WrestleMania every Tuesday night. Renee is Canadian and is the Brian Adams of dance. Asuka dances with and hugs Naomi. Jimmy hugs Naomi. Miz flips out. He leaves. Jimmy brings him back and puts him in a bear hug. Miz escapes and hugs himself. This is fun!
Now we get to some real fighting. Asuka and Naomi start beating each other up. Miz pulls Asuka out of the way of a moonsault, then gets his ass kicked by Jimmy Uso after a tag. Jimmy and Naomi hit Miz and Asuka with dual butt shots to the face in the corner. Miz recovers to hit Jimmy with the Skull Crushing Finale for the win. Team Awe-Ska remains undefeated
Match Rating: Six Gold Medals
Rusev mimics AJ’s southern accent… strangely well.
