Hell in a Cell Ending

I thought the Hell in a Cell main event was a really good match. I thought it was total crap that Strowman and Reigns laid there for 5-10 minutes while everything happened around them.  I know you want the focus to be on the guys fighting on top of and falling off of the cell, but come on, have them do SOMETHING. Dan McQuade of Deadspin thinks there’s too much interference in these types of matches. What people really seem to be pissed about is the ending. I don’t put a lot of stock in what live crowds have to say anymore, but there’s a video going around of them chanting “this is bullshit” when the match was declared a no contest. So I want to know what people think, if a Hell in a Cell match should EVER be declared a no contest and if you’re cool with last night’s ending.

MIXED TAG MATCH: DANIEL BRYAN & BRIE BELLA VS. THE MIZ & MARYSE

WWE loves to trade wins, and Miz won at SummerSlam. Let’s just hope that Brie and Maryse don’t get too much ring time.

Who is a future champion?

In my posts I often say of current low- and mid-card talent that they strike me as a future champion. So I’ve decided to list my top five men and top five women, and why I think they’ll succeed in WWE. I won’t use anyone who has already been a champion, so that leaves out Andrade “Cien” Almas and Drew McIntyre, who have both been NXT Champions, though I think both of them will be WWE/Universal Champions someday. This is exclusively wrestlers who have never held any title in WWE/NXT who I think will be a WWE/Universal/Women’s Champion at some point.

Mae Young Classic Round One Review, 9/12

PRISCILLA KELLY VS. DEONNA PURRAZZO

Kelly reminds me a lot of Ruby Riott in her look at personality. I am a fan of Purrazzo and I’d like to see what she can do, but she’s already going to be in tag team action NXT next week, so if Kelly impresses me here, I’d like to see her move on. I don’t know why they show Samoa Joe in the crowd, or what the hell he has to do with this tournament. Kelly smacks Purrazzo’s hand away at the start, so it’s clear who the heel is here.

BUDDY MURPHY VS. GRAN METALIK

These matches between Murphy/Nese and the members of Lucha House Party have been absolutely incredible. I’m really looking forward to this one. Early on Metalik shows his athleticism and Murphy shows his strength and brutality. We see Metalik flying and bouncing around while Murphy uses strikes and throws. I have a feeling we’re going to see both wrestlers’ full arsenals before the match is over.
