Better late than never.
I know, I am WAY late with these this week. But I’m hopefully gonna bang out Mixed Match Challenge, 205 Live, NXT, and Mae Young Classic today.
I really love that R-Truth is becoming relevant, no matter how short-lived this may be. He’s still over as hell. Carmella is so talented that she’s gone from the most hated heel on SmackDown to a cheered face in less than a month. So this is now TruthTV? Rock on. I am greatly entertained by the new format, especially the seven-second dance break. It does not take much to make me happy.
Stephanie takes Baron Corbin to the woodshed. Those segments are really annoying to me. Renee Young is very shiny tonight.
Enjoy.
It’s not confirmed, but it’s being reported that Shawn Michaels is “a lock” to return to the ring. The report says he’ll team with Triple H against Undertaker and Kane at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on November 2. I think it’s certainly fitting that if he is going to wrestle again, that it’s The Undertaker who draws him out of retirement. That’s the only way it should be done. I imagine the buildup to this is going to be incredible.
The announcers are all fawning over Kaitlyn. No love for Kavita Devi. Devi is going to be the heel as she snubs Kaitlyn’s handshake attempt. I remember Devi not looking very good in last year’s tournament, but she was also very green, it was her first match. Let’s see what a year at the Performance Center has done for her.
Evans says she’s a lady but acts like a bitch. A mean, tough-as-nails bitch. Every time she gets hit, she just gets pissed and hits back twice as hard. When she tags out, she slowly climbs up over the top rope and back down onto the apron. It looked so uppity and bitchy, small things like that can have such a big effect on getting a character over. Things like that are why I selected her as one of my future champions.
It’s been a great buildup to tonight’s Cruiserweight Championship rematch. Gulak vs. Alexander is the best feud 205 Live has had in its short history. Gulak has been great since he stopped doing PowerPoint presentations.
After months of speculation, it’s being reported that Rey Mysterio has signed a two-year deal with WWE, The only thing left to figure out is where he will fit into a storyline. I think he will end up on Raw, but I’d prefer to see him battle it out with the top guys on SmackDown. Either way, it’s certainly exciting to have him back, and I really look forward to seeing what they do with him.
