TRISH STRATUS & LITA VS. ALICIA FOX & MICKIE JAMES w/Alexa Bliss

Leah is understandable slower with her offense, but she still looks good. Trish looks really good, and I think that’s also a testament to Alicia Fox’s athleticism and ability to make others look good. That’s certainly not to take anything away from Trish. Trish and Mickie punching each other in the face is fun. Did Mickie punch Trish in the poon when she was holding her upside down on the ropes?

TONI STORM VS. MEIKO SATOMURA

Though Storm has been one of my favorite new wrestlers, I’ve been unimpressed by her performance in this tournament so far. This match starts out boringly as well until Storm lands a vicious kick to Satomura’s chest. I’d like to see her really get rolling, and same with Satomura, because this match has the potential to be amazing.

LACEY LANE VS. MEIKO SATOMURA

The commentators talk about how much of an underdog Lane is, and how embarrassed Satomura would be if she lost. I agree. I see a ton of potential in Lane, but she’s not there yet. She should be no match for the veteran that put on the match of the tournament with Mercedes Martinez in the second round. I would be surprised, and frankly, unhappy if Lane wins this match. I have nothing against her, but I would just find it illogical, as well as WWE letting one of their developmental talent go over a Japanese legend for in a situation that would help neither woman at this point. However, it would hurt Satomura.

ZEUXIS VS. IO SHIRAI

Since I unfortunately saw a spoiler the other day I know it’s Io Shirai who wins this match, but that’s the only thing I know. I can still look forward to an incredible display from these two, and early on I’m not disappointed. Zeuxis hurts Shirai’s arm and goes to work on it immediately. The crowd is firmly behind Shirai. Zeuxis shows little respect for her much-heralded opponent.

HIROYO MATSUMOTO VS. RACHEL EVERS

Interestingly the crowd starts chanting “fight forever” before the bell even rings. It sounded like Matsumoto caved Evers’ chest in with that double dropkick from the top rope. Both of these ladies are really powerful. Cole calls Matsumoto a “vocal performer”. That’s an understatement, she grunts and yells with every move. I never understood the purpose of that until I trained in Krav Maga and realized how much more powerful my strikes were when I did that.
