Evolution Predictions

Krysia and I make our Evolution picks. Most of these are the same picks I made at Ring the Damn Bell, but a little has changed. Krysia will be there in person, so follow our Twitter and Instagram for live updates!

 

Trish Stratus & Lita vs. Alicia Fox & Mickie James

Pat: It’s funny that they’re treating this like past vs. present when Mickie James is 39. Trish & Lita get the nostalgia win, since especially with Fox replacing Bliss. I already had them picked before that replacement.

Krysia: For sure Lita and Trish. Especially now since Alexa is out and Alicia fox is her replacement.

 

NXT Women’s Championship: Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane

Pat: I think Shayna Baszler is prepping for a main roster call up. This should be the kiss off to a great feud. Kairi Sane retains.

Krysia: Shayna needs to come up to the main roster so I am hoping that this is her last match in NXT and Sane wins

 

Raw Women’s Championship match: Nikki Bella vs. Ronda Rousey

Pat: Please. Does this one even need a debate? Ronda retains, and hopefully the botch twins go the hell away.

Krysia: Ummm this must be a trick question… Hey Nikki…. Ronda’s gonna kill you!

SmackDown Women’s Championship Last Woman Standing match: Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch

Pat: This is a tough one to call. They seem to like to trade the women’s titles back and forth. I’d love to see Becky retain, I think what she’s and the title are doing for each other are terrific. I might flip flop a few times between now and Saturday, but I’ll say Becky retains.

Krysia: This is the match I am most looking forward to seeing. Both of these ladies are going to put their bodies on the line tonight. I love me some charlotte flair,  but I am going with Becky for the win.

 

Mae Young Classic Finals: Tony Storm vs. Io Shirai

Pat:

Original prediction: Another one that’s really tough to call. I think WWE would love to have Kairi Sane and Io Shirai win in back-to-back years and then feud in NXT. They already have the British market, they could see this as a pipeline into the Japanese market. Io Shirai wins.

Now: The more I think about it, the more I think it’s better if they don’t have two Japanese women win it in back-to-back years. It’d be a better showcase for the global appeal of the tournament if Toni Storm gets the win. Plus I LOVE Toni Storm. Storm gets the win.

Krysia: I doubt we are going to see another Japanese wrestler win given we saw Sane win it last year. I’m going to go with Tony Storm.

 

Sasha Banks, Bayley, & Natalya vs. The Riott Squad

Pat:

Original prediction: I love the Riott Squad, and I think they need more wins. Initially I wanted to say the faces win to get the pop, but I’m going to say the Riott Squad goes over.

Now: Knowing what WWE does with these heel groups like Riott Squad and SAnitY, I think they’re going to give the win to the faces.

Krysia: Ugh no question that the Riott Squad is taking this win

 

Battle Royal

Pat: Ember Moon, Asuka, Ember Moon, Asuka, Ember Moon, Asuka… I DON’T KNOW! It was the big feud in NXT, and Asuka went over every time. I’m picking Ember Moon. Or maybe Maria Kanellis or Kelly Kelly. WAR GODDESS!

Krysia: This is hard because the royal can literally go in any direction. I would really love for the winner to be either Ember Moon or Nia Jax.
