DREW GULAK w/JACK GALLAGHER VS. AKIRA TOZAWA

I can’t see Tozawa winning unless The Brian Kendrick comes out and distracts Gulak. Tozawa is obviously incredibly talented, but there’s so much push behind Gulak right now that it’s highly unlikely he’d take a clean loss. Tozawa has a nice position on the card but he’s not in the main event picture like Gulak is at the moment. Gulak has also been on an absolute tear, totally locked in.

Mixed Match Challenge Review, 10/16

TEAM PAWZ (BOBBY ROODE & NATALYA) VS. COUNTRY DOMINANCE (MICKIE JAMES & BOBBY LASHLEY) w/LIO RUSH

The Bobbies start the match. Natalya puts her cat ears on Lashley, AND THE ASSHOLE STOMPS ON THEM! Nattie looks like she’s gonna cry. I had no idea that Bobby Roode used to team with Jim Neidhart. Nattie always looks like a warrior, and she fights like one. Mickie James is no slouch, and she looks like a bad ass in her outfit.

OPENING SEGMENT: BRAUN STROWMAN, DREW McINTYRE, & DOLPH ZIGGLER

The heels run down the Shield, talk about who is going to win the WWE World Cup, then are interrupted by The Shi…. nope, Roman and Seth. Seth calls himself the best in the world. He did that this past week and asked said he wanted a match against Kenny Omega. Omega and Tommaso Ciampa responded. I’m all for that mess of humanity. Rollins gets some cheap Philly pops. None of the promos were that good or that long. I wasn’t a huge fan of this opening. I think it’s because this feud has been stale and boring.

IN-RING INTERVIEW: DEAN AMBROSE

Ambrose teases that he’s done with The Shield. He’s so good on the mic. Sure, he emphasizes that The Shield is a brotherhood, but he also runs down all the reasons why he would leave and why he could go out on his, continuing to leave some doubt. I love the options that Corbin offers Ambrose. It’s such a great way to get in his head. Ambrose doesn’t break, and ends up facing Strowman.

OPENING SEGMENT: ROMAN REIGNS

Roman calling out Brock is bad ass. Lesnar doesn’t come out when called, he waits until someone is beaten down and vulnerable. Chicken shit? Probably. But he almost always is the one standing at the end, so maybe he has the right idea. I’m smelling a triple threat match for the title. Or maybe a number one contender match between Strowman and Lesnar first. Corbin is a bitch as GM and is so easy to hate.
